My month of October of 2008 started out by going to a book signing event for photojournalist Kevin Rivoli's new book, In Search of Norman Rockwell's America. A book where Kevin matches up some classic Norman Rockwell works with his photographs taken throughout his career. He wanted to prove Rockwell's critics wrong by showing his paintings and illustrations did depict the real America.
A week later, I found myself in the Prospect Mountain Diner in Lake George, New York. Shooting from the hip, I photographed this couple sitting at one of the diner's booths. While I am no Kevin Rivoli, I think this scene would be something Mr. Rockwell might have wanted to paint.
